This is a great opportunity to join a growing non-technology firm as one of the only technology ‘experts’ in the place! We’re totally dependent on dozens of PCs, scores of printers, miles of CAT5 and CAT6 cabling, rows and rows of routers and switches, data servers, domain servers, firewalls, safes, and more. Even IP based video, telephony and security all humming about….. but few technology experts to manage, support and control the environment.
We need help NOW. We are seeking one or two individuals to join our staff in salaried positions as Enterprise Technology Support Managers. No, you’re not managing people – you’re managing TECHNOLOGY throughout the enterprise.
The position is for an individual with really good Windows desktop AND network knowledge:
o MUST: Experience with configuring, installing and troubleshooting Windows workstations.
o MUST: Experience with configuring, installing and troubleshooting printers, both local and network attached.
o MUST: Experience with configuring, installing and troubleshooting IP routers and switches including primary and multiple sub-network environments.
o MUST: Experience with various Windows Server technologies and configurations including domain servers / controllers, data repositories and stores.
o COMFORTABLE : Knowledge and experience with Open Directory, Workgroup Manager, Mac Manager, Integration with AD, DNS, backup systems such as Retrospect, MS Exchange, Active Directory.
o COMFORTABLE: Ability to help clients with MS applications, especially OFFICE, ACCESS, and a variety of email programs including OUTLOOK.
o NICE: Microsoft Certifications a major plus but not required.
o NICE: Experience with working with and troubleshooting Macs is desirable.
Your responsibilities will range from high-tech debugging of IP networking issues and video surveillance system all the way down to setting up laptops for events. Changing toner cartridges and clearing printer jams also come into play. Let’s not forget installing software updates, too. Since these roles play the part of the help desk for everything, we also deal with some software training and troubleshooting. Supporting the people is as key as supporting the technology.
A master multi-tasker will excel in this role as you will support dozens of individuals – while truly reporting ONLY to 1. A true TIME-MANAGER you must be a self starter AND a self-stopper based on priorities. You must have a strong customer service focus, a desire to see things through to completion and to work in a small business environment with an emphasis on self motivation and teamwork.
